Eligibility requirements for widows of Texas Masons
Widows are eligible to live at Texas Masonic Retirement Community if the related eligible Texas Master Mason was in good standing with a Texas Lodge. This is defined as a Texas Lodge under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge of Texas or a Texas Chapter working under the jurisdiction of the Grand Royal Arch Chapter of Texas for five (5) years preceding the application to move to Texas Masonic Retirement Community.
In addition, a widow applying for admission, must have been continuously married to an eligible Mason for three years prior to the time of application.
Payment options for eligible widows
We offer two payment options for those meeting our eligibility** requirements. Regardless of payment option choice, all residents receive the same services and amenities offered by Texas Masonic Retirement Community. Payment options are described below:
OPTION 1: Payment for Services Option*
With the “Payment for Services” option, you may choose from any of our wide range of accommodations. All residents enjoy meals, housekeeping, and much more.

Option 2: Total Asset Turn Over Program
The “Total Asset Turn Over” option allows Texas Master Masons* or their qualified relatives to live at Texas Masonic Retirement Community free of charge. In exchange for this benefit, you agree to turn over all your assets prior to move in. This includes, but is not limited to, any and all residences, automobiles, savings accounts, real estate, stocks, bonds, etc. This option includes a five-year financial look-back period.
With this option, you receive all the benefits of living at Texas Masonic Retirement Community including a cozy and comfortable apartment in our Historic Main Building, meals, housekeeping, and a wide variety of activities and other services in exchange for the transfer of all your assets.
